ABOUT ME
Hi! I am Sarah. I am a BACP registered children and young people’s therapist, supporting young people and their families in South Devon, based in Ashburton.
My work is based on a deep respect for people and I am committed to empowering and exploring clients’ own understandings to make their own choices. I emphasis the importance of dialogue, connection and relationship in all of my work.
As a person-centred integrative therapist, and I will work with you empathically and creatively, using a range of techniques including psycho-dynamic, CBT/DBT, play therapy, Eco and creative therapy, Gestalt, and emotion and solution focused therapy. Each intervention will be guided by the young person and work is always collaborative.
Currently, I hold the role of therapist at Kingsbridge Community College, and The Apricot Center, Dartington.
I also have 20 years experience working with children and young people, as a lecturer at Exeter University, CIC advocate, teacher, and SENDCO, working with schools, therapeutic fostering agencies, and CAMHS.
I am trained to Masters level in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy for Children, Adolescents, and Families from Roehampton University, and I can work with clients from 3-21 years.
I hold the highest level of safeguarding training- L3 Designated Safeguarding Lead, and have an enhanced DBS.
I welcome private clients in my dedicated therapy space, so please contact me to see how we can work together.
